Apple Cobbler



Apple Cobbler

Apple filling
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 T butter
1 beaten egg
2 T milk

Apple filling

Cook and stir 6 cups peeled, sliced apples, 2/3 C sugar, 3 T water and 1 T lemon juice in saucepan till boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 min. Stirring occasionally. Mix 1 T cornstarch and 2 T water add to fruit mixture, cook till thick.

 Prepare filling keep warm. For topping mix flour,sugar,baking powder, and cinnamon in bowl. Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine milk and egg. Add to flour mixture, stir till combined. Transfer filling to baking dish. Drop topping by teaspoons onto fruit filling. Bake 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.


Add some ice cream



Or a lot of ice cream!

  1. I haven't had cobbler since I was a kid - maybe a better use of my apples. Looks yummy!
